Alexandra Kovacova is crazy girl from Slovakia solo travelling the world and sharing her funny stories at CrazySexyFunTraveler. Her purpose in life is traveling, she loves all kinds of extreme sports and relaxing in spa after.

I caught her preparing for yet another trip - this time to Caribbean, North America, India and Europe to try the best of adventure and spa

GTT: Do you travel solo? You do lot of crazy stuff - adventurous sports and countries some people consider dangerous. What are some safety tips you can give to female solo travelers?
A: Most of my time I do travel solo. Sometimes I go to a place where I know people or just meet fellow travelers so we spend some time together, but usually I travel alone.
The best tips? Try not to wear many expensive things with you when on the road (jewelry, watch etc.) and don't make it very visible. I sometimes carry a pepper spray with me just to be sure (or maybe to satisfy my mum) and if necessary, I mention ''I do boxing'' to people around. Have always worked :)

GTT: How do you stay fit when travelling?
A: There are many simple things I do to stay fit when traveling. I try to walk all the time, take steps and no lift, eat more times a day and in smaller portions. I am also a sucker for healthy tea! You can find more tips in the future on a new blog I started - Fit when traveling.

GTT: Tell us more about your Adventure and Spa project.
A: I cannot live without adventure, it makes me bored! And as I also need spa treatments to stay calm and relaxed so I decided to do Adventure and spa project in 2013. I will be visiting different destinations around the world and try some of the best adventure and spa activities there, take videos of it and then write an ebook about it.

GTT: You recently won HostelBookers' Fun Award and anyone can sense lot of optimism from your posts and pictures. What keeps you happy and cheerful?
A: Funny enough, I suffer from depression every now and then because of some bad things that happened in my life. Traveling helps me to overcome it. No matter what, I laugh big part of each day. I love simple things in life - sunsets, animals, a great view, a nice message, a hug or a smile from an unknown person in an unknown destination.

GTT: Do you travel non-stop? What pays for your travelling?
A: I can say I do travel non-stop since March 2011, but I did a trip or two also every week 2009 - 2011 when I worked as a flight attendant. The first year traveling I spent all the saved money, but since 2010 have been living just out of my blog. Yes, I am a full-time travel blogger now and to say it's easy would be an understatement.

GTT: What is your favourite destination and why?
A: If you are asking about my favourite country, then definitely Mexico! Like I said many times, in my opinion Mexico has it all. During 3 months I spent traveling around it in 2011 I was happy every single day apart from 2 days when my laptop was stolen with all my photos and videos.

GTT: What are the most challenging things on your bucket list?
A: Uff, this is a tough one! I will try many extreme sports this year during the project. One of the most difficult ones will be scuba diving I guess. I suffer from sinusitis very often and also have lungs 1/4 smaller than normal, so ear pressure and good breathing when diving would be hard for me! I was about to do scuba diving in Cozumel, Costa Rica, Thailand or Philippines so far but always had ear infection so I couldn't.

GTT: You have been traveling for 2 years now. How has travelling changed you since then?
A: Traveling changed me heaps! I realize what is important in life and what is not at all. I learned to enjoy little things every day. I learned to be nice to strangers. I learned to let unknown people become my best friends. I learned to trust locals. And I also learned some patience which I never had and that all plans will never work out.

GTT: What do you do when you don't travel?
A: Together with spending time with my family or friends, I relax at a spa, write about my trips, plan new trips or think how to improve my blogs.

GTT: If you could recommend just one of your must-read articles for readers of Girl's Trip Tips, which one would you pick?
A: I could pick for example one of the recent posts - Material things I thought I needed in life but traveling proved me wrong. Many girls believe they need a lot of stuff, but trust me, it's such a great feeling to own less things! I wish I had known it before I became nomadic as I would have saved a lot of money I could spend on my trips :)

Thank you for the honest answers!
