Second biggest city in Italy after Rome and the capital of Lombardy, visiting Milan is a unique experience. Unlike romantic and slow southern Italy, Milan is in typical northerm industrialized region. Despite many historical sites, Milan is nowadays modern cosmopolitan city and Italian commercial and financial center and fashion capital and you might be surprised by how many foreigners live here. Even cuisine is different here as Milanese use more rice than pasta and almost no tomato. If you are lucky, you will clearly see the Alps and if you visit for longer, definitely go for a day trip to Lake Como (famous from James Bond's Casino Royale and other movies). Milan is a must visit for every artist/designer/architect or other creative soul.
Read more for my tips on what to see and do (and don't do!) in Milan.
(guest post) Lovebirds who wish to join their lives for ever with an unforgettable ceremony in an utterly romantic setting, but still want to avoid cliché destinations that become really crowded especially in the warmer months, which are indeed the best ones for outdoor events, should really take Rhodes into consideration. This large Aegean island is characterized by lush vegetation and turquoise waters, making it the ideal setting for your wedding on the seafront.
Traveling to Europe? Visit Slovenia, small country (even smaller than my Slovakia!) with even smaller coast, but beautiful nature is something between Croatia and Italy. My problem was that I had some expectations and Slovenia coast didn't meet them. Anyway I still think it's wort a visit! I ignored my friends' advices and went to the coast in hopes of enjoying some quality beach time. I was looking for it in Portoroz which reminded me of Monaco with its many casinos, then Izola and Koper, but I was disappointed as there was just concrete beach, many people and lot of noise. It was freaking expensive (both Croatia and Italy appeared to be cheaper) - 35 EUR for a day on beach in Portoroz versus 6 EUR in Trieste, Italy (which included also 2 pools). Then I finally found some peace in Piran - picturesque city all the way down near Croatian border that had it all - beach, piece of history, pretty nature, less people, good food.
I am not a fan of touristic attractions linked to wars or armies and other negative stuff (I even refused to go on school trip to Auschwitz), however the sound of trip to picturesque Bavarian Alpes sounded good. Unfortunately weather this august was really wild and I ended up freezing and getting bored at overrated Hitler's Eagle's Nest. Read more to find out why.
(guest post) Athens is a city that never sleeps. You might not have thought the history soaked Greek capital is a buzzing, busy and fashionable city, but the bars, clubs, discos, cafes and tavernas are filled every night with catwalk inspired looks and home styled fashions.
(Guest post) Famous around the world for its highly aesthetic monuments of classic Greece, its unique and joyful atmosphere, along with the strong contradictions, metropolitan Athens is mostly visited by lovers of art and history or people who just want to soak up that all important sun, sea and sand on the popular shores of Attica!
However, Athens has lately been a fashion mecca of style and elegance, thanks to its few yet top-notch shopping options.
Looking for white beaches of Gulf of Mexico, great views and typical southern hospitality? Pensacola, Florida might not be your first choice but you should definitely consider it. And where else to stay of not at Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front? You have everything at one spot, so you can relax and enjoy your vacation. It's right on a beach, near several cool bars and shopping places, close to Pensacola Beach Blvd in case you want to quickly get out of the island.
Flight delay is one of the most frustrating experiences when you’re traveling. Based on information from The Wall Street Journal, in the last five years, one of the most awful years for airline dependability is 2013. According to Flight Stats, only 78 percent of flights arrived as scheduled in 2013, a slight dip from 80 percent in 2012.

Cheaper than neighbouring Austria, more exotic than its big brother Czech republic and more hilly than Poland. Liptov region in north Slovakia is great for every visitor. Ancient Roman spa built by Roman soldiers and old communistic buildings falling apart all next to modern luxury hotels providing medical treatments with local healing mineral water. All set in Slovak - central european countryside dotted with churches and sheep.
Budapest - famous for its spas is not that far from here. However this place is less crowded, cheaper and set in picturesque countryside.
For hundreds of years there have been casinos in Europe and for this reason many people visited the continent in order to enjoy many the different casino games and experiences you can have their playing them. This tourism has only increased in size over the years with the rise in popularity of online gaming sites like www.luckynuggetcasino.com, as well as more and more new casinos are being built to partner the old historical ones.
Dallas, city jungle in desert state of Texas. Big cars, big food, big heat. And big hotels everywhere. One of them is The Adolphus Hotel, legendary old place with typical southern hospitality. It is on list of National Register of Historic Places.
Staying at the same place where Queen Elizabeth II, Donald Trump or Oscar de la Renta slept has its pros, but also cons as you will see. Adolphus has been providing services since 1912 in the heart of Dallas, walking distances from main attractions and cool restaurants and bars. It's hard to miss it as this baroque masterpiece stands out in crowd of modern glass and steel buildings. It's also within 30minutes of ride from both airports.
I was staying at Adolphus for a week and this is review from my experience.
Whether you are heading to Seattle for business or pleasure, you need a place to stay. I have a great recommendation for those who love art - Hotel Max. Excellent place for everyone who is looking for great location, comfy rooms and professional service. The hotel is not family friendly, but definitely great for couples, singles or bunch of friends traveling together. Hip, modern and eco-friendly, this hotel provides experience beyond simple accommodation. Located within walking distance from major touristic attractions, two blocks away from shopping mall, close to delicious restaurants, it offers great view on Space Needle as well (not from all rooms though).
(Guest post) Magnificent Santorini is not exactly a hidden gem these days. It draws visitors from all over the world who come to soak up its romantic reputation and glorious sunsets.
Although a tourist favorite, its atmosphere and unique landscape make it a once-in-a-lifetime island to visit. Santorini is calling to you, all you have to do is listen.
(Guest post) Athens, Greece is a cultural whirlwind. It’s easy to see why the Greek capital is fast becoming one of the most popular European city breaks, it has everything: fine dining, a vibrant nightlife, museums and attractions by the bucket load and friendly people. Since ancient times, Athens was a centre of science and is well known as the birthplace of modern civilization. Today the city is a cosmopolitan mix with late bars sharing street space with ancient ruins.
